Lower Otay Lake and Mountain Hawk Park

If you want to get out on the water, Chula has a number of options for you. For a picnic by the water, head on over to Lower Otay Lake and Mountain Hawk Park, only a 10-minute drive from the Village of Escaya. If the beach is more your style, Bayside Park or Silver Strand State Beach are a hop, skip and a jump away, surrounded by great food options for a quick snack or long lunch.

South Bay Family YMCA

Local to Escaya, the South Bay Family YMCA has a range of facilities for San Diego County members to keep everyone moving, including a pool, gym and fitness classes. The kids can improve their swimming skills with lessons while you do laps or hit the gym. If you’ve just moved into South County, their membership program allows you to use any of the 17 locations across San Diego, so visit their website linked above for more info.

Otay Valley Regional Park

Open from 9:30am to sunset, this park has trails and walks for every fitness level. Stretching from Imperial Beach in the west all the way to the Preserve in the east and following the Otay River, there are recreation areas and historical sights to visit scattered throughout the park, so check out their website to learn more.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park

Do you like to bounce? Then Sky Zone is the place to go this weekend. Their massive wall-to-wall trampolines will make you feel like an acrobat as you jump and bounce around the room. For those who want to fly, the foam zone provides the perfect soft landings for huge air. Their early bird prices are affordable and you can buy your tickets online here to save time.

If you do decide to visit us this long weekend, we’re located off Main Street and Heritage Road in Chula Vista. From the 805, take the Main Street exit and drive east, turn left onto the new extension of Heritage Road and follow the signs to the Escaya Welcome Center. We’re open this weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
