Here’s a rundown of the three existing schools and some general information to get you prepared for your upcoming school year.
Elementary School
With a 9/10 GreatSchools rating, Wolf Canyon is a K-6 elementary school with excellent facilities and dedicated teachers, less than a 10-minute drive from Escaya. Known for excellence in Fine Arts, Science and Technology (FAST), Wolf Canyon encourages learning-in-action and challenges students through innovative instruction. It’s part of the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD), one of the most successful districts in the State. In 2013, the CVESD was accredited the first Live Well San Diego district for removing unhealthy snacks and drinks from their lunch menu. This coming school year they will be celebrating their 10-year anniversary, so head over to their blog to learn more.
Middle School
Part of the Sweetwater Union High School District, Rancho del Rey’s 8/10 GreatSchools rating has made this an award winning middle school. Their unique scheduling and inspired teaching staff have created a productive and exciting educational environment for kids, winning them a Gold Ribbon Award from the California State Board of Education. Less than 2 miles from The Village of Escaya, Rancho del Rey is perfectly positioned to provide your child with a quality public education that’s close to home.
High School
Located a little over a mile from Escaya, Otay Ranch High School is one of the newest high schools in the district. Rated a high 9/10 on GreatSchools and a Gold Ribbon Awarded school, its stunning fifty-five acre campus offers career pathways for senior students, rotating schedules during the week and the successful Academy of Criminology and Justice Program (AOCJ). This four-year program is the result of a partnership with the Chula Vista Police Department that sees students explore careers in the justice system all the way through their senior schooling.
Transportation
Wolf Canyon Elementary School has a few different options on transportation to and from school so make sure you read their bus information to make sure your child is eligible.
