October 2019 Events and Festivities in Chula Vista

It’s officially fall here in South County. At The Village of Escaya, the weather is still warm, and the palm trees have no plans on changing to autumn colors. But that doesn’t stop sunny Chula Vista from celebrating the season right, with events to keep you in the Halloween spirit all month long. Here are 5 local events to meet all your pumpkin carving, candy craving, fall festivity needs:

 

A Hallow Harvest Trick or Treat Event

Saturday, October 26 from 3-6 p.m.

You and your family are invited to trick or treat 19 model homes at The Village of Escaya. (All houses are certified un-haunted.) Stop by our harvest festival in your costumes for trick or treating and join in on pumpkin-inspired activities! There will also be interactive photo ops, face painting, rides, food, and a DJ playing your favorite Halloween tunes. For more details and to RSVP, click here!

 

Halloween Treats at Eastlake Village Walk & East Lake Village Marketplace

Thursday, October 31 from 3-5 p.m.

Bring your little pumpkins to visit Village Walk and East Lake Village Marketplace where merchants will be handing out free treats for children ages 12 and under, dressed in costume. All children, accompanied by an adult, sign up at the free registration table where they will receive a Halloween bag before setting off to collect their candy.

 

Movie Night at Escaya

Friday, October 11 from 6-9 p.m.

Arrive early to reserve your spot. The movie will begin at 7 p.m. sharp! The feature presentation will be The Jungle Book, the 2016 live-action adaptation. Be sure to bring the bare necessities (chairs, blankets, and pillows, but no tents, please) as you enjoy this free event. Snacks are available for purchase.

 

Halloween 5K Glow Run

Friday, October 25 starting at 5 p.m.

Don’t miss the inaugural Halloween Glow 5K run/walk along the Rohr Park jogging path. Participants will receive glow sticks to light their way as they round the Chula Vista Golf Course Trail, fluorescent nylon swag bags (perfect for post-event trick-or-treating), an event t-shirt, and finisher medal. Registration is limited to the first 400 participants, so sign up early!

 

Haunted Aquarium: Sea Monster Mash

Friday-Sunday October 25-27 from 6-9 p.m.

Venture out to enjoy The Scripps Institution of Oceanography’s Haunted Aquarium in the nearby San Diego area. Search the galleries for unusual underwater monsters rarely seen at Birch Aquarium, discover a sea of glowing beasts (big and small), get sticky with slime, and enjoy spooky stories, all while boo-gieing down to live music.
